Ofra Haza was one of the best artists coming from Israel. She managed to unite and get people from different ethnic groups to love each other more. She is no more together with us, but her music lives on. Her voice is magical and her ways of getting your mind hooked is incredible. This is an artist that deserves to be known much more worldwide as she was a bridge builder.
Inspired by a love of her Yemenite Jewish and Hebrew culture, her music quickly spread to a wider Middle Eastern audience, somehow bridging the divide between Israel and the Arab countries. As her career progressed, Haza was able to switch between traditional and more commercial singing styles without jeopardizing her credibility. Her music fused elements of Eastern and Western instrumentation, orchestration and dance-beat. She became successful in Europe and the Americas; during her singing career, she earned many platinum and gold discs.
What if there was more people like her in Israel? What if middle east became a peaceful place? She was a musical queen and now she is just the sound. Thanks to Ofra Haza, for giving the world your voice. It will be not forgotten and we tend to bring that light further by sharing your voice and tones to our readers.
Ofra Haza – Im Nin’Alu is also powerful
It’s just amazing how she manages to mix arabic sounds with english and western beats in Im Nin’Alu song that you can listen to above. Only few artists like Enya, Sandra and Enigma to name a few have this powerful sounds and voices. Ofra Haza made fantastic songs and we hope that you like also!
Went away too early for sure!
Ofra Haza died on February 23, 2000, at the age of 42, of AIDS-related pneumonia. While the fact that she was HIV positive is now generally known, the decision by the major Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz to report about it shortly after her death caused controversy in Israel.
We will always remember you! Ofra Haza will always be in the hearts of people and Muuusic site makes sure you will. This music deserves to be played and shared.
